 What is Guillain–Barré syndrome?

Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute poly neuropathy and a disorder affecting the peripheral nerves system or ascending tract paralysis, weakness beginning in the feet and hands and migrating towards the trunk, is the most typical symptoms and some subtypes cause change in sensation or pain, as well as autonomic nerves system dysfunction. It can cause of life-threatening complications, particular if the chief breathing muscles are affected .The end result of this autoimmune process is an attack on the peripheral nerves and damage to essential muscles.

Cause

Specific cause is unknown. Some cases may be triggered by the influenza virus or by an immune reaction to the influenza virus.
