Carpal tunnel syndrome causes Pain, Swelling and inflammation in the wrist joint, Tingling and numbness in your hand from pressure on the median nerve in the wrist. Illnesses, pregnancy, and obesity can cause carpal tunnel syndrome.
Injected corticosteroids usually provide longer-lasting results but oral or injected medicines rarely provide permanent relief from carpal tunnel symptoms. Stop any activity that you think may be causing finger, hand, or wrist numbness or pain. Avoid activities that bend or twist the wrists for long periods of time. Wear a wrist splint when you cannot control your wrist motion, such as while sleeping. A splint can keep your wrist in a neutral position.
·         Ultrasonic therapy may relieve pain and inflammation, if your tendon is inflamed, relieve pressure on the median nerve and may make you feel better.
·         If your symptoms are severe, if nonsurgical treatment has not improved symptoms, or if your symptoms aren't clearly caused by carpal tunnel syndrome, your doctor may recommend nerve testing which checks the median nerve.
